Too cold to fiddle about
No one hanging around in town, Threepenny Bit are obviously the only buskers with a bit of fortitude (what a wonderful word that is). When I saw them they were having a break; the accordion player from Friday was there so I went up and gave him a copy of the photo I took; he seemed pleased. I also left him the photo of the flute player. I asked how the were getting on and the violinist said really bad. Apparently it was too cold so no one stops, they believe if it goes below 6 degrees people just hurry by; well it was -1 this afternoon.
Later when they started playing they did draw a crowd and the band provided great entertainment. If you get the chance to hear them do stop and take the time, even if it is bloody cold.
I was looking for a quote or fact about violins to use as a title and came across this:
I inherited a painting and a violin which turned out to be a Rembrandt and a Stradivarius. Unfortunately, Rembrandt made lousy violins and Stradivarius was a terrible painter.
