Great North Run

Of course, I was just a spectator but there was a great atmosphere in the City nonetheless, with bands playing and supporters cheering and colourful groups of runners charging round the closed off streets. I particularly enjoyed the site of streams of runners occupying the closed-off motorway and I ended up camped out on the central reservation near the finish line like a character from Ballard waiting for the girls to come in. It was actually quite emotional watching everyone approach the end in various states of distress and euphoria. And I was very proud of Beck and Katie at the finish. Very respectable times too!
