In the field

A cow and a calf appeared in the field a week or so ago. They are the only occupants of this field that has been left wild all summer. We don't see much of them because the field is long and, as they make their way up and down, they only pass our garden occasionally. And then they are often hidden in the vegetation, as you can see. They have plenty to eat, but I can't help thinking they might be a bit lonely.
