Living by the canal

The flat I am renting in Berlin this time looks out on the Landwehr Kanal from the living room and the bedroom. The outer wall around both those rooms is a semi-circle filled with windows, which completely confuses my sense of spatial relations  — I feel as if I am moving from the front of the apartment to the back, and yet I am still looking at the canal. But it is a very pleasant kind of confusion. I really don’t think I’ve ever lived in a prettier place.
