Cow Parsley

A long ride today to test the road bike. One of those days where there is a headwind regardless of the direction you are heading. It is a route I have done numerous times. Heading out through Auchendinny, up the long climb, over Mount Lothian, down to Eddleston then around Cademuir to Peebles. I take the back road to Traquair. But at Kailzie, the road really is closed, so I have to head back to Peebles, then follow the cycle path to Innerleithen.

From Innerleithen, it is a long climb up to the Piper's Grave, then a short descent before the final climb up to the Granites, 404m above sea level. A great long descent to Middleton. Then it is the back road to Gladhouse and the long descent to Auchendinny and home. 123.8km. A long ride, but quite nice. A bit warm. Thankfully the road bike didn't fall apart, so I take that as a plus.

The route can seen at Relive here.

I have a small late lunch, and relax doing some photo editing, then to the local café for afternoon coffee and cake (at the café for a change). After I walk around the park, where the light is falling quite softly on the cow parsley. A great end to the week.
