From The Ashes

I confess, this is not my picture, but I wanted to have an image of the ADANA dog shelter after the fire in my journal.

All around has been burned to the ground, yet amazingly the shelter itself suffered comparatively minor damage, amounting to about 45,000 euros.

Already the water supply has been restored and the dogs should be returning on Monday.

We had the foresight (I say "we", but I mean the Board of ADANA of which I am Secretary) to have fire breaks cut around the site just three weeks before the tragedy occurred.
