Nissan Super Girl

After last week's adaptive surf championships, we are fortunate to have the Nissan Super Girl Surf Pro contest this weekend. Almost 100 top women surfers from around the world are competing south of the Oceanside pier. I walked down this morning in beautiful sunshine to see the action. Hawaiian-native Coco Ho, pictured here blasting through a wave, was the winner of this heat as well as the one in the afternoon to move on to the round of 16 tomorrow. I left my "good" camera gear in Zihuatanejo and was forced to capture images with my "travel" camera. Much lower dynamic range and the sharpness was no where near what I am able to get with my DSLRs.
