Brambles

I've just been out picking brambles, or blackberries to give them their proper name. (The plant is called bramble, the fruit is blackberries, but in Scotland we call it all brambles.) This little tub seems to be teeming with wild life. I've rescued a small brown spider who has taken a liking to my scouring pad, perhaps sucking moisture from it. There is a wee worm thing in my picture. I've lifted him out with his chosen fruit and he seems happy. A couple of tiny wee flies have also emerged. At some point I will have to give the lot a rinse before making a crumble.
