This beautifully marked Hawthorn Shieldbug was a much more pleasant sight that I found on my jumper than the horrible vine weevil grubs that I saw while clearing a flower pot.   I don’t mind the shieldbug on some of the garden shrubs but I do hate the weevils ruining several of the plants in my containers.  I very carefully examined every bit of soil to remove them from two pots but quite possibly there are tiny invisible eggs left.
