Sunflower

A beautiful sunny day.  We were looking after our grandson and I also had a hairdressers appointment.  Fortunately the hairdresser visits our home so my husband took Lucas off to the beach while I had my haircut.  While they were out I popped out to the allotment to pick a few raspberries and saw a fellow plot holder with this sunflower in his hand.  He was about to add it to his compost bin as the birds had knocked it over, when I asked if I could have it.  It perked up quite a bit after sitting in a vase of water.  I later took a few shots of it for todays 400th Mono Monday.  If you look closely you will see at least 400 pollen grains as they are scattered all over the petals as well as the stamens.
