Caravan

Open day at the Tomb of the Eagles today, so a group of us from the craft shop went along for a look. As we are part of a small community, we all try to support each other so we try and point tourists in their direction and vice versa. It was a fascinating morning, lots of exhibits and displays, masses of interesting information and then a walk out to the cliffs to see the actual tomb. Well worth a visit, even on a wild and windy day like today.

As well as the tomb there is an iron age burnt mound, purpose unknown and up for debate. Parked alongside is this rusting wreck. The notice in the window says it is part of a second world war German ambulance, which was converted into a mobile home, toured across the Sahara and then was a field shelter during the excavations at the mound! It's certainly seen better days!
