Tulips

Dad was a trained photographer. He would have carefully chosen his film, settings, lens and filters and then perhaps inked in the tulips on a black and white print to get this effect.

I am a well meaning bumbler who just has to push a few buttons to get this effect on my modern camera (Fujifilm Finepix SL1000).

I can't help thinking this is the equivalent of turning out Stradivarius violins by the dozen using computer design and robots.
