The sound of a distant combine prompted me to see if they had started to harvest the nearest wheat field.   They hadn’t but I did see a tractor hauling part of the combine leaving a field and go down the road – no doubt frustrating any drivers who might be behind.  Within sight in different fields there was also another combine harvester, a baler, a tractor loading bales onto a trailer and a tractor ploughing with a multitude of gulls following.
