Curlew #84
Another short notice HPB holiday, being booked on the way to Tigh Mor a couple of weeks ago. We are so thankful to be part of HPB and glad we joined almost 20 years ago. It has afforded us numerous weeks away in the UK within the past 18 months when many people have been struggling with availability.
This morning we set out for HPB Lucker in Northumberland which is about 4 miles from Bamburgh. It's a fabulous site and gives us a great base to visit the wonderful Northumbrian coastline full of castles, sandy beaches and birds!
After a lovely lunch at the Cook and Barker in Newton on the Moor, we were a bit early for check-in, so took a little detour to Budle Bay to see if the tide was in/out. It was almost fully in, but we still found loads of redshank feeding in the mud and a couple of curlew. I was surprised to find that I'd not blipped one this year, so that had to be my blip for today.
This time we are in a studio apartment, but it is very spacious and well equipped as usual. I'm sure we will be very happy here for the next week.
