Water off a duck’s back ….
We’re in Windsor and have just witnessed the amazing Ian Mckellen playing Hamlet. It takes a while to get into this gender, race and age blind production - but with the greatness of this actor we soon forget the incongruity of his age. His energy, athleticism and skill really are remarkable, and it really is impossible to believe he is 82. (See extras)
We planned to visit Windsor Great Park this afternoon, but got no further than the river - full of swans and Canada Geese clearly used to being fed by visitors. I must admit these were the nicest geese I’ve yet encountered - really very sweet, following our steps and making endearing watery squawks, while others dipped and dived, plunging themselves into the water which splashed around them, coating feathers momentarily before vanishing from feathers like the proverbial duck’s back.
And so today’s blip is unsurprisingly a watery goose
I suspect postings will be late over the next few days, and comments may be sparse, but I’ll catch up as and when I have a chance.
