I've Got A Golden Bucket
My Dear Princess and Dear Fellows,
I was feeling lazy the other day, and it was late when I got home, so I went to KFC for dinner.
KFC, I cannot help but feel, is a much bigger deal here than it is in the UK. People effing LOVE their KFC.
I fit right in. I've been loving KFC since the late 1970's.
But here in Aotearoa, there have been recent stories of the police pulling over a couple of gang members, who were attempting to drive a van full of KFC through the lockdown checkpoint. It is next level obsession.
As for me, I ordered the "Golden Bucket" meal deal. It looked like some sort of one-off promotion. But all I cared about was the fact it did not come with a huge bottle of coke. Which is wasted on me.
I thought the "Golden Bucket'" would just be a cardboard bucket, a golden one. LIttle did I know I would be getting an ACTUAL GOLDEN BUCKET (pictured).
I brought it home anyway. I was unsure how it would be used (waste paper? plant pot?) But then I mentioned it to Corrie, in passing.
SHE WAS SOOOOO EXCITED.
"Can I have it? Can I have it?" she asked.
I texted Caro, PLEASE SO NOT THROW OUT THE GOLDEN BUCKET.
And received a text back.
TELL CORRIE THE GOLDEN BUCKET STILL LIVES.
So today, I brought in the golden bucket for Corrie and she was SO happy! She actually sang the "I've Got A Golden Ticket" song from "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" (with the lyrics slightly altered).
She carried it around with her from meeting to meeting all day, and kept her stationery and everything in it.
It was actually very handy.
Huh. Now I need a Golden Bucket of my own.
S.
