Caught in the act!
A couple of days ago, I was horrified to see what I initially thought were two rooks flying off with nextdoor's kittens. Slightly less traumatic - but no less incredible - they weren't actually kittens but my neighbour's ginormous pears, each rook holding one by the stem in its beak as it flew. Amazing!
Despite the pear tree now being 'Rook Central', I've been unable to get any shots of them making their getaways, just sitting in the tree - which is not very exciting - but this rook eyeing up another pear made me laugh.
Later on, my neighbour came round with a big bag of pears, some of which were returned later in the form of one of my daughter's delicious vegan tarts.
I wanted to post a picture in honour of today's Autumnal Equinox but I guess this still says 'Autumn'?
