Comforter?
This was supposed to be a blip of green 'P’ plates but, unfortunately, today my daughter seems to have got the world record for quickest driving test fail ever!
Although she's driven along the test route loads of times, today there were some new road works and no sooner had she gone past them than she was asked to turn around and go back to the test centre... and told she'd failed. Apparently, she hadn't moved into the other lane soon enough and the examiner said he thought she ‘hadn't been aware of the road works early enough'? The whole thing took less than five minutes! She was naturally very upset at the time but is being quite pragmatic about it all now - helped, no doubt, by Daddy promising to pay for more lessons and a new test when she gets to university.
Her driving instructor is married to one of my best friends and I did laugh when he let it slip that it had taken my friend five attempts before she passed (before they met, though, so not his fault!). She certainly kept that quiet over the years!
In the evening, I noticed that my daughter had put her giraffe in the bag of bedding she's taking to uni. I guess, even at 18, you're never too old for a cuddle from your favourite soft toy when you're feeling sad!
