For the first time in a very, very long time neither hubby nor I had anything on the calendar that we had to do today. So we took a drive up to Cripple Creek (elevation 9,500 ft.) to see if the aspens had changed yet. And sure enough, a few of them had! But they are far from peaking, and at our puny elevation of 6,000 ft, we have barely begun in Colorado Springs.
The temperature when I took this photo was 68 F (20 C), but when we got home it was 83F (28 C.) Maybe that's why our trees are not yet turning.
