Grey Plover #86
Another day keeping my feet up for most of the day. Lots of reading with a drive out to Boulmer in the afternoon which was lovely. We had a short walk on the beach and the incoming tide was great for the birds. Boulmer is a smallish beach with lots of rocks and seaweed, so very quiet in terms of people, even on a Sunday. There were a few people taking a stroll, and only one with a dog - happy days.
In terms of birds, there were a few Sanderling running from the tide, which I think are one of my favourite waders, turnstones, oystercatchers, curlew, godwits, ringed plovers and just one grey plover. It was standing at the water's edge all alone, looking just beautiful in the late afternoon sunshine, and since it's not often I see these birds, it had to be today's blip.
This evening we are off out for a meal to a local pub but hoping to get back for the season finale of Vigil. And I very much suspect that by the time we return we will probably have lost the Ryder Cup as the Americans are playing so much better than the Europeans.
