Sirmione
Day 2 Italy road trip
After a quick breakfast at the hotel, we walked around Como. It was really quiet, nobody on the streets until 10am, then it was soon busy, looks a lovely town for shopping. We only went to the Bialetti shop, got a stainless steel espresso maker, that you can use on an induction hob. The cathedral was amazing, but we were too early to go in. We went back to the hotel, checked out, then got on the road to Bergamo. We went straight to the Cittia Alta, old town at the top. Fabulous narrow alleys, wonderful cathedral, and sat in a nice cool garden area and had a pizza for lunch.
The next destination was Sirmione, on Gardasee, where we got a nice pitch on a campsite with a beautiful pool. After pitching the tent, we swam in Lago Del Garda, then in the pool, while there was still a little bit of sun. The campsite was on the outskirts of Sirmione, so it was a good 45 min walk to the castle and the old town. After a walk around, we found a super Trattoria for a fantastic dinner and another bottle of local wine. It was a long 45min walk back to the campsite!
