Slates

After neatly putting the slates on the side we can't see last week, this week the roofer has started to put slates on the side we can see! As I commented before French slates are hooked from below and you can just see the metal clips on the picture, and note no hole at the top where they would be nailed in the UK. Older roofs were nailed as in the UK, but for quite a while now French slate roofs have uses the clip system.
