Cherry Picker

In between rain showers I found this gray squirrel picking and eating cherries under the boxelder tree that borders our property. If you look closely you’ll see he just plucked the cherry from the tree with his mouth and his hand is cupped underneath in case it falls :) • Otherwise I’ve spent the day indoors. Another double-batch of applesauce is in the slow cooker; the floors were mopped while visions of mice exploring the house at night danced in my head. Thankfully no signs of visitors in the house this morning, but there was activity in the back room where the furnace and w/d are located. Would a creature be smart enough to check out the living area one night and then know how to return from whence they came? Last night while watching tv MrsP heard a scurrying/scratching sound above us in the ceiling. Grouch heard it too. The rest of us? Oblivious! • The humane traps should arrive tomorrow!
