Patterns on the hillside.   Several new plantations of mainly conifers have recently been planted on the northern approaches to Portmore reservoir beside the western edge of the Moorfoot hills. The contrast between the different rows of trees, the rough moorland and the green grass “firebreaks” was very pronounced although not quite so obvious in this photo as it was not easy to stop the car.
