Friday means flowers

….any day means flowers for me. While taking an abstract blip yesterday I fooled around taking my pot of pansies and thought I wouldn’t get a repeat that I liked for today. Instead I tried multiple exposure and came up with this shot.

A big day in politics. We had press conferences all stacked on top of one another. I guess the big news internationally is they are preparing to open the borders. I thought the PM had lost the keys….so for overseas blippers you can start saving for that trip to Australia in the next year or so.

The other news is our State Premier Gladys Berejiklian has stood down after the ICAC does an investigation into whether she has breeched public trust. I’m not a huge fan of most politicians but she has been a firm and steady leader during the past few years and I am sad to see her go. 

In the Australian bird of the year poll 2021 I have voted for the Mallee Emu Wren today. I haven’t heard of it before  but it looks just gorgeous at 6g with a long tail that looks like an emu feather. They are not good at flying and were wiped out by bushfires in SA. They are trying to reintroduce them and I wish them luck.
