Open heart surgery
Friday 1st October 2021
Well, today didn't go as planned and I haven't achieved what I set out to do. It's been a technical day. I finally got round to taking the photos of the cameras we had donated to our Table Top sale. They are now on ebay. Fingers crossed.
In recent weeks I've been having problems with my laptop and I contacted a local firm for help today. Then discovered that I had conducted the guys wedding a few years back. He normally works on site but I thought it would be easier for him to take it away to do. He agreed to collect it late afternoon. He arrived about 5.30pm ... and left at 7.30pm! Clearly he prefers to work on site. It was fascinating watching and chatting with him as he worked. The good news is that he's fixed most of the problems I've been having and my laptop is now restored to its former speed. The bad news is that part of the problem was caused because the second hard drive has failed. I thought that was going to be expensive but apparently it should be under warranty so I am now exploring that. It was great that he did it there and then for me and I am sure he didn't charge me as much as he could have. Very kind. It did mean that I didn't get anything done in those two hours though!
A knock at the door earlier in the day brought a thankyou card and a treat for myself and three members of the congregation who have helped with a group in the last year. We have a voucher for a meal together at a local pub. Very kind and generous.
