Six hours to do the first 300ish miles, almost an hour to do the last five. It was worth it when I got here.

I was one of the first so I did a quick reccy in the town, luckily only going into two shops and, with a measure of self control even I was surprised at, only spending money in one. I'm here until Monday, there's time yet and one can never have too many fleecy tops.

After an enormous dinner we've ajourned to the bar to discuss tomorrows route. With 40+mph winds on the peaks, and "drenching" rain (now apparently a meteorological phrase) we'll probably stay low rather than aim high and need to abort. 

It may have all changed by tomorrow, it's very still outside right now.
