A break

Yes you are right we were no longer in Liverpool.

Frankly I am quite surprised we are actually here in Jersey. The trip was booked and paid for over a year ago and I did wonder if we were crazy coming, but Liverpool airport was quiet and calm, no queuing and Jersey airport functioned like a well oiled machine. Travel registration QR codes read and tests, where required, done in minutes. Chris didn’t need one as he tested negative on Friday, he has a cold. 
The only down side, apart from a very heavy landing, was arriving to lashing rain and strong wind.

We are now at our hotel. 
On arrival we were told we had an included afternoon tea and when did we want to have it! (Our taxi driver had just told us we should have the afternoon tea one day!)
We decided as our room wasn’t quite ready and the rain was still lashing that we might as well have it today and start our postponed (again) wedding anniversary on a high! (46 years last March)

After, the rain had stopped so we headed out to walk some of it off by walking the length of the bay. Very strong winds but warmer than I expected. A bit of brightness kept peeping through - blip and we did a circuit back to the hotel from the end of Ouaisne Bay by climbing up above the bay and returning on the road. About 4 miles. There were 3 surfers in the water when we set out, 10 when we got back. Perfect conditions for them. 

Had a leisurely bath, watched a bit of ‘Strictly’ and then went down to dinner! Now eaten too much as it was all very good, this hotel having been recommended to us by a friend because of it’s reputation for good food and it’s location.
A bit of a crazy (silly) Saturday but a good one.

Not much planned, the whole idea is to just enjoy being here and relax for a few days.  If the weather isn't too bad we are hopefully walking with the above friend from home, who has family here, on Monday.
