Taking Up Space

Not the most inspiring of evenings, but still I tried. Initially I looked for dark shapes of branches against a lighter sky, thinking about a minimalist sort of shot. I raised the shadows to show some detail in the trunks and allowed contrast in the sky to show, so now it's less about shapes and minimalism.

I decided the image is more about the space left behind by the tree that fell down and how the space is now occupied by the branch of its neighbour. However, the remaining tree will soon follow the fate of its cousin. A little bit morose, but seemed suited to the mood of the evening.
