Ready To Launch

Seed pods opening and letting loose their cargo. I'm still not sure what fascinates me about this subject. Is it decay (again?), or life cycle, or rich autumn colours, or the fine wispy feathery bits, that presumably carry them off in the wind.

I like the yellow in the background, probably some brown-eyed susans. They, at least, are still going.

The sun sets noticeably further south now casting long shadows from tall trees in that direction. Adjustments will need to be made to make the most of the light.
