I started prepping another canvas today. This time I went back to something I used to do with many of my oil paintings with a bit of a twist. I love gold and brick red gesso. I used to do a value study with these two mapping out the dark and light areas of my composition before beginning to draw the shapes with paint. This time I did an abstract study with the same colors. It has taken all day to dry as I smeared on the gesso thickly. Now I may add some additional media - acrylic gels, inks, Posca. I might even do some acrylic painting. If I wait to the end I could even add oil paint. Don’t know yet exactly what I’ll do. The fun continues.
