Ibidunni Ojikutu

Went to the Bellingham Music Club this morning to hear Ibi and accompanist Rebecca Manalac perform. Ibi grew up in Bellingham and was winner of our high school singers scholarship and then went to WWU where she won a college scholarship from us. Now she is a freelance artist with the Seattle Opera. Her voice is big and beautiful. And her command of expression and emotion in song is delightful. Rebecca accompanied her in a program of works by women composers and poets. On Friday they will perform the complete program (today was a partial) at First Congregational Church in Bellingham at 7:30. If you are able to get here Friday, I highly recommend this concert.
