First catch your bee

Then, if you are a Rainbow Bee-eater, find a bare branch on which to perch. Rub the bee repeatedly against the branch to detach the bee's stinging bits. Swallow.

Photographed this evening in the Lake Ainsworth heathlands. I can't be sure that the insect is a bee. Bee-eaters happily feed on many species of insect.
