Common earthball

Not to be mistaken for the edible puffball, the earthball or poison pigskin is toxic.

This morning I went to Oswestry Racecourse with the birdwatching group.  It was lovely to have bright sunshine and no rain.

We saw jays, a sparrowhawk, long-tailed tits and a bullfinch plus lots of small birds that were hiding behind the leaves.

None were close enough to get a decent photo so this earthball provided a blip.
