This woman is AMAZING!
Not one but two painful, dodgy, ligament damaged ankles. No real training for as long as I can remember. Lack of sleep from a sick toddler.
Yet this morning she strapped her ankles up, donned a lovely bee costume and walked 26.2 miles along the Shropshire Union canal from Norbury Junction to Nantwich! All to raise money for TOFs, the charity that does so much to support children like Owen, born not able to swallow.
The canal may be technically downhill but it was a proper hard old trek, with uneven, muddy, ground* for a lot of it (she lost a shoe in the mud at one point), a closed towpath*, vicious swans*, some buffoon that kept popping up* with food and quips, and massive blisters from the ankle supports that are supposed to help.
I am so, so proud of her for getting through it. She's so much braver than me, I definitely wouldn't have bothered with all the difficulties leading up to it.
Just need to wait for the medal now!
