Waiting

I think this morning existed but the events of the afternoon have erased any remembrance of life before noon.
Perhaps the lady in deep contemplation in my blip is also only trying to recall some event.

I left the Dower House at 1:30 to get an airport bus which would take me to the vaccination centre. At 2 pm I arrived to find a huge hall full of rows of socially distant chairs of people. There was no rhyme or reason as to which queue you
picked and some queues moved forward seemingly quicker than mine. This was just to register and once that happened I then joined a similarly large area of occupied chairs and waited and waited and waited. I was glad I had brought a book to read.

Finally after an hour and a half the deed was done- flu jab in my right arm and Moderna vaccine in my left.

There was then a further 30 minute wait outside for a bus appear. I took it into the airport and got a tram home arriving at 6pm on the dot.
Not the slick operation I had the first time around at my GP’s surgery.
