Davos Munts
“To ancient Chinese fancy, the Milky Way was a luminous river, - the River of Heaven - the Silver Stream.”
Lafcadio Hearn
Our first day at Vella, in the mountains, so K1 and I went for a walk to Davos Munts, a small lake with a café – and the most amazing apricot cake ever.
We set off expecting up to an hour walking, confident we’d soon find the signpost to the village. As we kept going up and up and further and further it became obvious we’d missed something, but after an hour or so we saw a signpost – only another half an hour to go. Still, we’d had a good walk in beautiful sunshine with stunning views of the valley and we arrived spot on lunchtime. After an hour enjoying the afternoon sun our return walk was much gentler, there was a track signposted opposite the café entrance.
On our arrival last night, the clear skies gave an incredible view of the Milky Way, so my after-dinner entertainment was a short walk to sit on a roadside bench with K2 and admire the view of the Milky Way.
