Tip top.....
Mostly dry today.
Cattle fed then nipped out and gave the 7 bulls in the field some barley too. The idea is that they will hopefully come to a bag when I need to sort them out at the end of the month. One bull less than yesterday though as I had to get the blonde bull put down as his injured leg wasn't going to heal. Must be getting soft in my old age as despite him being a temperamental nasty bugger I did feel a bit sad .
A lorry load with 28 tons of cow rolls arrived in at lunch time. Managed to get all the pallets stacked in the shed without any burst bags or collecting any blue paint off the lorry. Always a bonus.
It should have been an armoured van delivering it as from costing £254 /ton in March it has rocketed to £309/ton now. Multiply that by 3 or 4 loads over the winter and it's a fair old hike which we won't recover.
An afternoon of this and that then once Littlemiss got home from school we headed off down the road to feed cattle there. Heading home by 7 pm and it was dark.
This lorry was in next door delivering a couple of loads of gravel . No doubt it will have gone up in price too. It would be nice if we could set the prices for our produce rather than having to accept what we are given !
Moan over !
