“A morning walk sets up a better day than an extra hour of sleep.”
~~Erin Lee Gafill

It is early morning and he’s out walking, Mr. Fun that is. With a book on my lap, I read in the quiet moments of this home.

Then I opened my phone to check something and it explodes with photos of his shoreline stroll. He is named appropriately — Mr. Fun.

Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
and Chloe & Mitzi Too!

This photo is not from this morning. It is from our evening. This image motivated me thru my entire 6 years of college as a 30-something adult with spouse and kids to care for. “Take Your Passion and Make It Happen”! was the underlying theme of the movie. I can honestly say that I fell into going to college when I was 35. I followed my 19-year-old son who invited me to come help him register (really he wanted my checkbook). While helping him, the desire to attend for myself was overwhelming me. I knew that deep inside I was tired of being stuck on the road to nowhere in my job; the solution was college, but as a high school dropout I didn’t know a thing about college. Once I got “in” though I knew I had found a road that not only led out of the dead end job, but led to somewhere that I wanted to be. It only took one semester to land on the bulls-eye of my desire. At that point I was absolutely addicted to completing college and I knew that included earning a master’s degree. Then my theme became “Take Your Passion . . .“ There are moments in this movie (that we watched this evening) that just make my heart pump. I am so glad that as college presented itself, I said “Yes!”
