2021 Wednesday — Yum!
This morning’s hors d'oeuvres! Really!
I baked this caramel apple pie last night after our trip to Big Sur (see yesterday’s post).
I don’t think I’ve ever prepared an apple pie from scratch. I got the recipe from an Instagram video (what a joke!).
After buying the harvest apples, I hunted for a couple days for an autumn leaf cookie cutter (never found one, sheeeeesh!), so a Christmas tree was my decoration.
I “guessed” most of the way thru the event and tried not to spice the moments with colorful words. By the time it was baked and browned, Mr. Fun was 25 miles into sleepy-land; so, I scooped him up, tucked him in bed, tucked the pups in their beds, got my jammies on, and dreamed of caramel apple pie all night.
It was still dark when I slid out of bed this Wednesday morn. My first bite of morning pie revealed that it’s the best apple pie I’ve ever tasted — that made any colorful words that slipped-out worth it.
I really don’t prefer apple pie (give me berry any day). BUT this is delicious; it’s all the caramel, I’m sure.
Don’t ask for the recipe, it was all free form.
Good night from
California’s Central Coast.
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
and Chloe & Mitzi too!
