Coca-Cola Foliage
Today's image was taken on a walk after a Saturday pint and some triple cooked chips sitting out on the terrace overlooking the River Medway at our local, The Chequers in Aylesford. The way the label of the Coke bottle, which had been discarded in the chain link fence, seemed to match the red autumnal leaves caught my attention.
After the grey weather of the last couple of days the sun finally made an appearance and it began to feel a bit like the Indian summer interlude we had been promised by the weather forecasters. After the stressful week my brother had at work it was great to able to just have a chinwag with a beer sitting in the sunshine as the river flowed past.
The day had actually started with an early morning run in the fog, after a couple of hot cups of strong coffee to get the old internal motor going, along the river bank on the opposite side of the river to the pub. It was the first time since early spring that I had to get out my running "long johns" (jogging bottoms) and jacket but it felt really good to be out in the cold crisp air.
