WALK FOR A FRIEND

I came across lots of walkers on the towpath between Kingston and Teddington Lock. Some had labels on their backs saying ‘Walk for a friend’ and the name of the person they were walking for…eg ‘Mum, Granda and specific names. This is a blip of a refreshment stop by Teddington Lock where I could stop and find out what the walk was raising funds for. It was in aid of cancer charities…Royal Marsden, Maggie’s and Cancer Research. This year every weekend I have happened to go along the towpath there seems to have been some sort of charity walk or run with lots of participants. So let’s hope everyone raised lots of money for the charities which did not get the same income during all the lockdowns.
