This is some heather. Another blip from my garden.

A strong memory from my childhood was a bit of an obsession with the Famous Five. They always seemed to make camp beds by throwing blankets onto heather. They were (apparently) the most comfortable beds ever....

I can't see how twiggy heather can be at all comfortable. It is pretty though.
