All Things Bright and Beautiful

A hopefully bright blip for a grey day!

I didn't ride Monarch last night as apparently he was "out". I didn't ask where but I hope he had a good time all the same. Instead, I rode Prince who was another majestic grey and just as big as Monarch if not a little wider which made the sitting trot without the aid of stirrups a slightly precarious balancing act but one which I managed to achieve! All in all, it was a very good lesson indeed and I'm hoping that I can do more sitting trot exercises on Wednesday night- this is something that I really want to master.

Ps In other news, on my way home last night, it occurred to me how special a sense of achievement can feel. I'm not a high achiever and neither am I ambitious or competitive but sometimes even the smallest of achievements (ie trotting a horse fully around a big outdoor arena without stopping and knowing you did a good job) means such a lot to me. Sometimes it's the little things isn't it?
