Today Roo and Bean have been working, although not a ward day they have been helping to raise funds for a project we have under way on the ward.

Working in a hospital obviously you have the bad times as well as some good and on the ward I work on( acute stroke) we occasionally have people in that will never make a recovery and come in for end of life care. So our project is to provide a room that the patient can spend their final weeks in with family so we are hoping to raise enough money to buy reclining chairs for relatives to sleep in, tea making facilities, iPod docks, lovely lighting and some pretty pictures that one of my friends and fellow blippers has taken of local landscapes, sunsets and nice scenes.

So today we had a stall selling cakes that staff had made for Easter, raffling Easter eggs and selling various things, we did well in three hours making nearly 300.00.

The dogs draw in the customers which then gets them interested and listening.

Two police ladies walked past and told me that they were going to take the dogs off me for ill treatment then with a wink said that she had always wanted a chi but her boyfriend was dead against it, so Roo and Bean are currently training as police dogs!!!!

So this is a day in the life of a working dog........
