It’s Saturday, I did the shopping and went to the gym in the mid-afternoon.  Both PY and I also took a lateral flow test (negative results) ahead of our trip to see my parents tomorrow and then at 1740 we were on the train to Gypsy Hill where we were going to spent the evening with friends.  I don’t think we’d been in the area for many years: we’d last been too Crystal Palace in 2014 and that might have been the last time we were around.

We sat outside in a pleasant evening. We ordered Indian takeaway from a local, award-winning place and we caught up on all the news from the years where we haven’t been in contact in person (of course, we knew a bit about each others lives from following along on social media).  On the way, PY and I searched for a bottle of wine. We had assumed there’d be a store near the station but it turned out it was further away - and up hill- than we’d imaged so we stated running late.  Still, we found a bottle and some vegan desserts and weren’t too late to the party.  I even recognised the house based on an Instagram photo that had been posted earlier in the day.

A very pleasant evening and a lovely way to catch-up with friends. On the way home we boarded an almost empty train. With the increasing number of people out and about this struck me as quite odd for a Saturday night.
