Edinburgh

Over to the office first thing to pick up my university chum, E, so that we could travel up to Edinburgh together for the Official 2021 Good Gang Special Assignment*. One of the advantages of being friends for more than thirty-five years is that we are completely easy in one another's company (although that doesn't preclude us from finding plenty to talk about).

After an enjoyable journey that took in the Moffat Road (my favourite route to Edinburgh), E and I had lunch at The Tiles on St Andrew's Square, and over the course of the afternoon we were joined by Ash, Bob, and Ross, travelling up from London, Liverpool, and Cardiff respectively.

It was hugely enjoyable, moving from pub to pub, and I'm so glad that we do this every year.

*There was, unusually, a trip earlier this year, too.
