Autumnal Reflections

All the rain that fell last week lifted the water levels somewhat, but more importantly patches of open water showed some nice reflections. Taken from the shady side, the tree tops opposite caught the late afternoon light and glowed orange on the water surface.

The image has a number of contrasts going on: warm vs cool; light vs dark; and a variety of lines and shapes. 

I liked the shimmering effect from a slight breeze that disturbed the water in places. The balance of the image is definitely in the other, reflected world of dreams and imagination, as opposed to the real world we live in.
