River Tay Walk, Dunkeld
Very low temperatures and lots of snow showers today, although no sign of snow at this spot on the river bank. I started out photographing the tennis court and its environs after a white-out, but did not post it. There were so many aspects to the River Tay walks that I wanted to explore before the week was up. Dunkeld has eight designated local walks, ranging from 3 to nearly 7 miles. Although colour holds a strong appeal for me, sometimes black and white, through its tonal quality, can bring out the majesty of a scene.
This was the case in this section of the river given the formation of clouds, the reflections in the calm water as the wind dropped away, and the configuration of trees. The brightly coloured jackets of the couple with the pushchair turned orange after applying a carmine filter and highlights the human interest. They were staying in the Dunkeld Hilton for a few days. The chap told me he had proposed to his wife beside the bridge that I pictured yesterday. A romantic spot obviously!
