MonoMonday: 20th Century Invention
I was determined to blip our post Covid haircuts today. I figured there would be plenty of 20th Century inventions in the salon.
It wasn't as easy as I expected.
Hair brushes are derived from brushes used 2,500,000 years ago in cave paintings in France and Spain.
Hair spray goes back to1790 when self-pressurized carbonated beverages were introduced in France.
The short back and sides style was used by soldiers in the Roman Empire as a protection against lice and also to guard against the enemy grabbing them by the hair or beard.
Even the first electric hairdryer was used in 1890.
Permanent waves and crew cuts were invented in the 20th century but Mr isbi wouldn't consent to either.
So you will just have to take my word for it that there are still plenty of inventions originating from the 1900s here, including bobby pins (1916).
Thanks for hosting Laurie.
